Softball Game Preview: Gresham Gophers vs. Lakeridge Pacers

The Gresham Gophers are taking a road trip to take on the Lakeridge Pacers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Gresham fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Lake Oswego on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 6-5. The Gophers have struggled against the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

La Terra Foster-Frison was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Lakeridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-2 to McMinnville.

MILLIE MACKENZIE made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Lakeridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gresham, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything went Gresham's way against Lakeridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2016, as Gresham made off with a 9-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gophers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
