Baseball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York managed to slip by Gaffney the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The York Cougars came up short against the Gaffney Indians on Saturday, falling 8-1. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Fulk, who went 2-for-3 with one double. The dominant performance also gave Fulk a new career-high in hits (two).

Having lost for the first time this season, York fell to 3-1. As for Gaffney, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0.

York will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Camden at 6:30 p.m. on March 11th. As for Gaffney, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Blacksburg at 2:00 p.m.
