Softball Recap: Slaughter Community Charter Comes Up Short

Slaughter Community Charter lost against Catholic of Pointe Coupee back in March of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Slaughter Community Charter Knights came up short against the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets, falling 19-4.

Jaz Ramdass made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Brister, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Slaughter Community Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Slaughter Community Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. Catholic of Pointe Coupee's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Coming up, Slaughter Community Charter will head out on the road to face off against Livonia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they will be playing at home against Westminster Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
