St. Francis took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Lisle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lions 2-1. Given St. Francis' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Lisle are ranked 360th) , the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Francis has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-2 record this season. As for Lisle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
