Softball Recap: Tennessee Comes Up Short

Tennessee was the 14-4 winner over John Battle when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. Tennessee fell just short of John Battle by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Macie Strouth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Kaylie Hughes was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Tennessee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

Tennessee's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for John Battle, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Tennessee has already played their next match (against West Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for John Battle, they will welcome Honaker at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
