Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Jayce Johnson stepped things up a notch to give Lowndes the 'W'. Johnson threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and also rushed for 55 yards and one score on only five carries. The effort marked the most passing touchdowns he has had since back in October of 2024.

Johnson and Lowndes will stay at home for another week and welcome Kell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will pit Johnson up against the Longhorns' star quarterback Kaleb Narcisse.
