Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeland Titans vs. Columbus Falcons

The Ridgeland Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Columbus Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Ridgeland is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Callaway on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ridgeland took a blow against Callaway, falling 81-37. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Chargers are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Columbus didn't have quite enough to beat Neshoba Central on Tuesday and fell 49-47. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Ridgeland now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Ridgeland came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbus when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 38-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgeland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
