Softball Game Preview: Chatham Charter Knights vs. Clover Garden School Grizzlies

The Chatham Charter Knights will face off against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chatham Charter has five straight wins, Clover Garden School has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Chatham Charter and River Mill, and Chatham Charter kept the tradition alive. The Knights walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Jaguars on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Clover Garden School came up short against Chatham Charter on Thursday and fell 7-4. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly three runs.

Clover Garden School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Hensley, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Chatham Charter's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clover Garden School, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
