Baseball Game Preview: Canton Tigers vs. Yazoo City Indians

The Canton Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Yazoo City Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Yazoo City took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Canton, who comes in off a win.

Canton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Gentry with a sharp 22-10 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Yazoo City came up short against Cleveland Central on Thursday, falling 19-5. The Indians have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Yazoo City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKinley Edwards, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Canton's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Yazoo City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything went Canton's way against Yazoo City when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Canton made off with a 13-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
