Bryan hasn't had much luck against Gross Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bryan Bears will challenge the Gross Catholic Cougars at 3:45 p.m.

Bryan kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 12-0 to Fremont.

Meanwhile, Gross Catholic can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let Omaha South onto the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lexi Skradski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that she's scored this season.
