Softball Recap: Lamar Beats Corsicana for Their Third Straight Victory

Lamar entered their tilt with Corsicana on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Corsicana Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since March 12, 2024.

Leila Bajenaru and Mariska Soliz did most of the damage at the plate: Bajenaru scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Soliz went 2-for-3 with two triples and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Soliz a new career-high in triples. Landry Rambo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Lamar's record now sits at 4-2. As for Corsicana, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Lamar wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-6 defeat against Dawson on the 27th. As for Corsicana, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 loss against Palmer on the 28th.
