Football Recap: Lawrence Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against Zionsville

There's no place like home for Lawrence Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 40-30 victory over the Zionsville Eagles on Friday. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 46-40 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Santana Allen was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 215 yards and four TDs.

When it comes to explaining why Zionsville lost, don't look at Sam Manna. Despite the final result, he rushed for 121 yards and three scores, and also picked up 37 receiving yards and one touchdown. Manna showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 58 yards. Theo Schott also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.

The victory got Lawrence Central back to even at 1-1. As for Zionsville, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence Central will face off against Edwardsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zionsville, they will square off against Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
