Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Melbourne

Melbourne came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Osceola Kowboys, sneaking past 8-6.

Layna Ayala was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brookelynn Dolin, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Melbourne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Osceola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

As of now, neither Melbourne nor the Kowboys have any future games scheduled.
