After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Casey-Westfield, Hutsonville/Palestine was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Martinsville Bluestreaks with a sharp 15-6 win. Considering the Tigers have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayden Monan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Brynn Griffin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Lily Holcomb was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Hutsonville/Palestine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Martinsville only managed six hits.
