Volleyball Recap: Mission Bay Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Mission Bay lost against High Tech SD back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Mission Bay fell 3-1 to High Tech SD. While the Buccaneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Storm 25-13 in the first set.

Mission Bay started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why Mission Bay lost, don't look at Zeth Abelman. Despite the final result, he had 23 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Abelman a new career-high. Gavin Ragusa also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Mission Bay's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-4. As for High Tech SD, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Mission Bay and Coronado will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on April 8. As for High Tech SD, they will head out to take on Olympian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
