Football Game Preview: Wink Wildcats vs. Eldorado Eagles

The Wink Wildcats will head out to take on the Eldorado Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wink knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Eldorado likes a good challenge.

Wink's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Sterling City, posting a 48-0 win. The Wildcats have beaten the Eagles the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

It was another big night for Kemyd Faciane, who rushed for 143 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 143 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wink was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 220 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Wink didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gunner Voyles and Remington Neves.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Eldorado won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Van Horn 1-0. The one-point effort marked Eldorado's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Wink's record now sits at 6-2. As for Eldorado, their record is now 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Wink against Eldorado when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
