Soccer Game Preview: Wilson Central vs. LaVergne

The Wilson Central Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the LaVergne Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Wilson Central will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Macon County on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 4-1 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Wilson Central's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, LaVergne's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They and Smyrna finished up their game with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time LaVergne have been dealt a draw since back in April.

Wilson Central's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. LaVergne's draw makes their record 6-7-2 this season.

Wilson Central suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to LaVergne when the teams last played last Friday. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
