Football Recap: Liberty-Eylau Comes Up Short

Liberty-Eylau managed to slip by Henderson the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Leopards took a blow against the Lions on Friday, falling 52-13. The Leopards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Liberty-Eylau saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ty Hawkins rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 100 yards and one TD.

Liberty-Eylau's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Henderson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Liberty-Eylau is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Carthage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Henderson, they will host Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
