Basketball Recap: West Stanly Takes a Loss

West Stanly was the 76-54 winner over Monroe when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The West Stanly Colts were dealt a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Monroe Redhawks on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Colts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Bryson Simpkins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Kaegan Chambers was another key player, putting up nine points along with six boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for West Stanly and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Monroe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

West Stanly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-62 defeat against Forest Hills on the 8th. As for Monroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-57 victory against Porter Ridge on the 8th.
