Baseball Recap: Faith Baptist Contenders vs. Desert Christian Knights
Faith Baptist extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-10 in the process. They lost 16-5 to the Desert Christian Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 on Tuesday.
As for Desert Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6-2. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
For Desert Christian's part, Andrew Silva was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Silva was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Seth Zeko was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mount, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
