Volleyball Recap: Oconee County Extends Winning Streak to Five

Oconee County had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Calhoun Yellow Jackets. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Yellow Jackets last Tuesday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

While Oconee County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17.

Petra Mooney paced Oconee County's offense, picking up eight kills. Mooney got some help from Fendley Kimbro and her 20 assists. Mooney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Oconee County's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Oconee County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Loganville on the 19th. As for Calhoun, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Newnan on the 19th.
