The Arp Tigers will square off against the Gladewater Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Gladewater will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Arp extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Tigers never let Douglass get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won 17 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Lacy Fletcher made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Neci Potts was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cortlynn Quinalty, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Arp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. They are 20-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Gladewater won against Sabine on Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 17-8 margin over the Cardinals. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.
Gladewater got a massive performance out of Katelyn Pugliese, who went 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave Pugliese a new career-high. Caydence Martin was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Gladewater's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Arp, their win bumped their record up to 21-7-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Arp hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419. However, it's not like Gladewater struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Arp's way against Gladewater in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Arp made off with a 13-3 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
