Volleyball Game Preview: George County Rebels vs. Purvis Tornadoes

The George County Rebels will face off against the Purvis Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, George County came up short against Our Lady Academy and fell 3-1. The Rebels have struggled against the Crescents recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

George County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-20, 25-10, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Purvis entered their tilt with Petal on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory.

While Purvis might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Petal scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

George County's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Purvis, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

George County beat Purvis 2-0 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
