Basketball Recap: Crisp County Takes a Loss

Crisp County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 55-26 loss at the hands of the Turner County Titans. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Titans are ranked 181st).

Despite the loss, Crisp County still got an impressive performance from Mariyah Chambers, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Chambers has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Crisp County's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Turner County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Crisp County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-47 defeat against Hawkinsville on the 21st. Turner County has also already played their next matchup, a 55-32 victory against Wheeler County on the 21st.
