Recap: Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds vs. Ada-Borup Cougars
The Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds managed to keep up with the Ada-Borup Cougars until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Mahnomen/Waubun might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 81-59 to Ada-Borup, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Mahnomen/Waubun has not had much luck with Ada-Borup recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Austin McCraven continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ada-Borup, scoring 19 points along with five assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCraven has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Scholl, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mahnomen/Waubun has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Ada-Borup, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mahnomen/Waubun's road trip will continue as they head out to face Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Ada-Borup, they will face off against Cherry at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cherry is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
