Basketball Recap: Needville Comes Up Short

Needville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were beaten by the El Campo Ricebirds 52-14. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-25 back in December of 2024.

Riannah Miles was her usual excellent self, going 7 for 14 en route to 17 points and seven steals for El Campo. Miles has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Mac?Yia Warner was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Needville's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for El Campo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

Needville has already played their next match (against La Marque), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. El Campo has already played their next contest, a 52-51 defeat against Bay City on the 24th.
