Lancaster Catholic proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Annville-Cleona Dutchmen 2-1. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered an 11-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lancaster Catholic's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Banzhof, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Banzhof hit this season. Another was Zach Zuber, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Lancaster Catholic back to even at 5-5. As for Annville-Cleona, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Lancaster Catholic will challenge Trinity at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Shamrocks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Annville-Cleona, they will square off against Northern Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Dutchmen surely won't give up without a fight.
