Football Recap: Beaverhead County Beavers vs. Billings Central Catholic Rams
Beaverhead County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Billings Central Catholic Rams and fell 64-28. The Beavers lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 24-21 score last time.
CANIN CHRISTIANSEN threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Paxton Puyear was his top target, picking up 121 receiving yards and one score.
Leading Billings Central Catholic to victory were Howie Martin and Ayden Salter. Martin rushed for 58 yards and one TD on only five carries, while Salter rushed for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. That's the most rushing yards Salter has posted since back in October of 2024. Evan Harrell helped out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Looking ahead, Beaverhead County is taking a road trip to face off against East Helena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Billings Central Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Havre at 7:00 p.m.
