Columbus has gone 7-2 against Palmetto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Explorers are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Columbus is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 28-3 margin over Santaluces. Given the Explorers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Chiefs are ranked 228th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Palmetto challenged Coral Glades on Thursday. The Panthers claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Jaguars. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

The win was the third in a row for Palmetto, bringing their record up to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Columbus couldn't quite finish off Palmetto when the teams last played back in September and fell 24-21. Can the Explorers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
