Football Recap: Sebastian River Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sebastian River can now relate to. They took a blow against the Martin County Tigers on Monday, falling 33-6. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Leading Martin County to victory were Calista Scornavacca and Delaney Gribben. Scornavacca threw for 131 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.6% of her passes, while Gribben picked up 47 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing touchdowns Scornavacca has posted since back in March of 2024.

Sebastian River's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Martin County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Sebastian River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martin County, they will face off against South Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 5.5 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
