Baseball Recap: Laguna Acoma Takes a Loss

After flying high against Thoreau on Monday, Laguna Acoma came back down to earth. Laguna Acoma fell just short of the Miyamura Patriots by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jayden Dailey was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dailey was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Patrick Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Sheldon Cheromiah Jr was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Laguna Acoma's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Miyamura, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Miyamura beat Laguna Acoma by a score of 11-1 later that day.
