Basketball Recap: Jerren White Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vista Del Lago

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hemet, Citrus Hill was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They took down the Vista del Lago Ravens 67-50. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Citrus Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jerren White out in front who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 11 boards, and ten steals. White has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 30 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kason Steward, who went 8 of 18 en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.

Vista del Lago's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ja'Marion Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, and Quinton Jinna-Smith, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Morris, who posted five points and seven boards.

Citrus Hill's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-12. As for Vista del Lago, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Citrus Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vista del Lago, they and Lakeside will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Vista del Lago is facing Lakeside at the right time seeing as Lakeside is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
