Softball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

Union County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Caldwell County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. The Braves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Union County and nudges their season record down to 6-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Caldwell County, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Coming up, Union County will head out to face off against Henderson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caldwell County, they will host Madisonville-North Hopkins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
