Soccer Game Preview: Union vs. Southside

The Union Spartans will square off against the Southside Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Union is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Monday, they were much more limited against North Duplin on Tuesday. They lost 6-1 to the Rebels.

Union's goal came courtesy of Evelin Alverez, who's now up to 22 this season.

Meanwhile, Southside managed to keep up with East Carteret until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Seahawks came up short against the Mariners, falling 4-0. Southside have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
