Basketball Game Preview: Westview Warriors vs. Wawasee Warriors

Westview will head out to challenge Wawasee at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview will be strutting in after a win while Wawasee will be coming in after a defeat.

Westview took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Prairie Heights as Westview made off with a 61-39 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wawasee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Goshen, falling 58-34. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the RedHawks are ranked 126th).

Westview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points over those games. As for Wawasee, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Everything went Westview's way against Wawasee in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Westview made off with a 62-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
