Basketball Recap: Firebaugh Comes Up Short

Firebaugh suffered their closest loss since December 23, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Avenal Buccaneers by a score of 41-38. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Firebaugh has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Avenal, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Firebaugh has already played their next game (against Dos Palos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Avenal has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Mendota.
