Recap: Huntington Huntsmen vs. Unioto Shermans
After flying high against the Western Indians last Saturday, the Huntington Huntsmen came back down to earth. Huntington was dealt a 74-33 loss at the hands of Unioto on Tuesday. Huntington has not had much luck with Unioto recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unioto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mya Hamilton, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Hamilton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Amaris Betts was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Unioto, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington will face off against Adena at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Adena presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Huntington in Ohio (Adena is ranked 91st, while Huntington is ranked 288th). As for Unioto, they will head out on the road to take on Piketon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Piketon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
