Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Middie Bears vs. Warwick Wildcats

Middletown hasn't had much luck against Warwick recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Middletown Middie Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warwick Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Warwick will be up against a hot Middletown team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Middletown blew past Highland 62-35 last Thursday. Given the Middie Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Huskies are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Warwick got the win against Valley Central on Wednesday by a conclusive 62-41. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won eight in a row.

Middletown pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for Warwick, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
