Baseball Game Preview: Ringgold Rams vs. Yough Cougars

Ringgold is a perfect 3-0 against Yough since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will face off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Ringgold managed to slip by Belle Vernon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 8-1 to the Leopards on Tuesday.

Ringgold saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Angotti, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Paul Dzyak also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Yough didn't have quite enough to beat West Mifflin on Tuesday and fell 6-4.

Nate Bell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Jayden Huber, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Ringgold's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Yough, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Ringgold was able to grind out a solid victory over Yough in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
