Basketball Game Preview: Countryside Cougars vs. Seminole Warhawks

The Countryside Cougars will challenge the Seminole Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Countryside is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 81-76 heartbreaker at the hands of Northside Christian. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Mustangs are ranked 425th).

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Corey Perlin and Elijah Ahlers. Ahlers had a great game and dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten boards. Meanwhile, Perlin was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Seminole beat NSU University 68-58 on Sunday.

The win got Seminole back to even at 5-5. As for Countryside, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Countryside came up short against Seminole in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 57-49. Can Countryside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
