Volleyball Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short

Murrieta Valley's tournament run continued when they took on Norco on Saturday. The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks fell 2-0 to the Norco Cougars. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Murrieta Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jedi Malaambo had 21 assists and four digs. Malaambo is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Murrieta Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Norco, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Murrieta Valley will head out to challenge Great Oak at 6:30 p.m. on March 17th. As for Norco, they will venture away from home to square off against Centennial at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
