Basketball Recap: Arcadia Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Arcadia extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ryhiem Pettit. The Arcadia Firebirds were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over the Worcester Prep Mallards on Friday thanks in part to Pettit, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game.

Lavar Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals. Arcadia is 4-1 when Johnson posts five or more steals, but 3-4 otherwise.

Arcadia's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Worcester Prep, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chincoteague at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. Arcadia is facing Chincoteague at the right time seeing as Chincoteague is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Worcester Prep also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Salisbury at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
