Baseball Recap: Fort Madison Comes Up Short

Fort Madison lost a heartbreaker to Mt. Pleasant when they met back in July of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Bloodhounds lost 13-3 to the Panthers. The Bloodhounds have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Fort Madison's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Fort Madison will square off against Keokuk at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bloodhounds are facing the Chiefs at the right time seeing as the Chiefs are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Mt. Pleasant, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-3 victory against Davis County on the 17th.
