Softball Preview: Argo Argonauts vs. Reavis Rams
Argo and Reavis are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Argo Argonauts will head out on the road to square off against the Reavis Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Argo will be strutting in after a win while Reavis will be coming in after a loss.
Argo can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Kennedy as Argo made off with an 11-1 victory. The win was just what Argo needed coming off of a 13-5 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Reavis suffered a rough 9-3 loss at the hands of Lake Mills on Saturday. Reavis has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Taylor Gustafson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yagmur Akgunlu, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The victory got Argo back to even at 4-4. As for Reavis, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Argo was able to grind out a solid win over Reavis in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 8-5. Will Argo repeat their success, or does Reavis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
