Basketball Recap: Union's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 17

Union entered their tilt with Powder Valley on Saturday with 16 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 17. They came out on top against the Powder Valley Badgers by a score of 46-33. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Badgers are ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Union's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Powder Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will head out to challenge Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Powder Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Wallowa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Powder Valley is facing Wallowa at the right time seeing as Wallowa is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
