Baseball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Buffalo Grove Bison

The St. Petersburg Green Devils will face off against the Buffalo Grove Bison at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. St. Petersburg will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Last Monday, St. Petersburg earned an 11-6 win over South Fayette.

Leo Smith was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. St. Petersburg is 2-1 when Smith posts two or more runs, but 2-8-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Danny Snyder, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

St. Petersburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glenbrook North.

St. Petersburg's victory bumped their record up to 4-9-1. As for Buffalo Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
