Recap: Shasta Wolves vs. Red Bluff Spartans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chico, The Shasta Wolves were happy to have found some success on Friday. They skirted past Red Bluff 17-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Shasta also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shasta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Boesiger, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown. Boesiger's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Another player making a difference was Justin Polley, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Despite the loss, Red Bluff still got an impressive performance from Jose (chacho) Chavez, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Chavez is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Shasta's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Red Bluff, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Shasta will be playing at home against Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Enterprise is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Red Bluff, they will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Foothill will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
