Doniphan-Trumbull extended the longest winning streak in C2 District 7 this week by beating Centura, 48-6. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Doniphan-Trumbull took down the Centurions 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Riley Wiltfong threw for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 58 yards during the win.
Brent Breckner's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jordan Slough chipped in 169 yards. Noah Keller helped Doniphan-Trumbull's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 36 yards.
He went 13-27 with 0 interceptions.
Slough was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 169 yards on 21 carries as the Cardinals beat Centura. Teammate Lorenzo Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Wiltfong and Slough, Doniphan-Trumbull has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Wiltfong is tops in the league in passing with 1,346 yards, while Slough has rushed for 1,600 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Thayer Central's Trev Mumm, with 413 yards on 30 catches.
Sutton made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,530 from 3,335. The advance stemmed from a 46-14 victory over Southern Valley last week.
