Boonville was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past the Princeton Tigers 4-3. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Boonville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Rinehart, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another was Grant Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Boonville's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Princeton, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Boonville is set to square off against their familiar foe North Posey at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Princeton will take on rival Heritage Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.2, the Patriots 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
