Softball Recap: Basic Takes a Loss

Basic extended their losing streak to ten on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-10. They came up short against the Green Valley Gators, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Basic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Kilar, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run marked the first that Kilar has scored this season.

As for Green Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Green Valley's side, Emery Gonzalez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Gonzalez posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emma Abrahams, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Basic is set to square off against their familiar foe Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Green Valley will take on rival Doral Academy Red Rock at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
